Welcome to Screen Writing for Adult Movies 101.
There are basically three ways to present porn. First, and my preferred approach, is to write an actual story with a plot, characters, conflict, sub text, the whole nine yards. No, we aren’t looking for a cinematic classic, just something that actually causes us to anticipate the sex scenes. If we can find something of ourselves in the characters, we can better enjoy the vicarious satisfaction of seeing them fuck on the screen. (Sorry, but I thought I should use big words since we are in class.)
The second approach is the compilation. Just film then doing it. Then film someone else doing it. Then someone else. Stick them all together, one after another, until you have an hour and 15 minutes of hardcore sex and – voila! – you have a movie. My least favorite approach, but it is cheap and easy to produce.
The third method is a combination of the two. Film all your disjointed scenes, then have some sort of device to make them appear to fit together. You know, have the girls laying around at a slumber party sharing their favorite experiences, or the boys at the bar telling their dirtiest stories. You get the idea.
The idea was creatively executed in Between the Sheets, a 1982 release starring Annette Haven, Arcadia Lake, Tigr, Seka, Vanessa del Rio, Veronica Hart, John Leslie, Eric Edwards and others. They could certainly pack the stars into a movie back then! All the action involved a bed that survived generation after generation. The bed, then, becomes the central character of the “story”, recounting all the sex that it has participated in through the years and giving us a nice costume porn feature.
